Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management offers the candidate Post Graduate diploma courses in travel, tourism, international business and services. It has been seen that there are very less number of university/institutes which are offering travel and tourism management courses. Earlier it was seen that the demand of these courses were very less but now as we see that the scenario has changed and demand for these courses are coming up in the market. As we have seen every day every third person is traveling is it because a meeting to attend might be to visit someone living in abroad or a person is going abroad for a job.

Admission/ Selection procedure

 

The criteria for selection of the candidates into IITTM for the PG diploma courses are based in three phases which are as follows:

First Phase: There is a written test which is an objective type paper comprised of 200 questions. The pattern of the paper is as follows:

Reasoning                                 60 Questions

Language proficiency                60 Questions

Numerical ability                       40 Questions

General awareness                    40 Questions

It is to be noted that there is negative marking in the paper.

 

Second Phase: Group Discussion

 

Third Phase: Personal Interview

The admission will be made during counseling strictly on the basis of overall merit comprising of performance at written test, group discussion and personal interview.

 

It is important to note that the candidates who have appeared for CAT and scored good score are directly eligible for the interview and group interview that is they are exempted from the written exam.

Eligibility criteria:

The candidates who are aspiring to pursue this course he/she should be a graduate and should have the certificate from a recognized university of India. The candidates should have atleast scored 50 % throughout in his/her graduation years.

How to Apply:

The forms can be directly bought from the respective institute or can be even be obtained by the post. If the candidates want the application form through post they need to send a draft of Rs. 800 which should be drawn in the favour of The Director, IITTM payable at Gwalior. Important Dates:

The following are the tentative dates for the entrance of examination, personal interview, group discussion and declaration of results which are as follows:

  • Entrance Examination- 3rd week of April, 2011
  • Last date of Application form which should reach the institute by- 3rd week of March, 2011
  • Personal Interview/ Group Discussion- 3rd  week of June, 2011
  • Declaration of Result are usually out in 4th week of June, 2011
