Master of Computer Application(MCA)
The advent of computers in India was considered to be new. Computers in the present day business have come to stay. Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a degree that is regarded as most demanded among the available options today. The duration of program is three years and it is offered by many Universities in India. The MCA course is a very good option for who would be opting for software. It offers various job opportunities for graduates in Multinational as well as in top ranking software firms. The candidate can even opt for entrepreneurship. Also, a qualification in software makes it easier to pursue for a job abroad.
MCA: Eligibility
The eligibility for MCA entrance exam for the candidates is that he/she must be a graduate in any stream with Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level. Moreover, candidates appearing for Bachelor’s degree can also apply for the program. For some institutes 50% marks in graduation is also required.
Entrance Exams for Admission to MCA
The candidates aspiring for admission into MCA programs various universities conduct entrance tests, personal interview and group discussion. The syllabus for the MCA Entrance varies from college to college so the candidates find it difficult to prepare themselves for the exam. Mainly the examination framework for MCA includes the following:-
Mathematics (advanced level),
General Science (Physics, Chemistry),
Reasoning (Analytical decision-making, non-verbal),
General awareness.
So the candidates need to be good at Mathematics (some will be upto B.Sc level). The knowledge of computers would also be helpful.
Selection is based on the performance of the student in the written entrance test/interview/group discussion. The test lasts for 2-3 hours. The pattern of the test is purely objective in nature. Some tests even have negative markings for wrong answers.
